Want a Quick Glow-Up for the Holidays With No Downtime? Try Injectables!
The busiest time of year is just around the corner, which means family gatherings and holiday parties – but what if you don't look your best? Wrinkles, dull skin, and fine lines make you want to stay in instead of enjoying the festivities.
If you're looking for a quick transformation with zero downtime, injectables like neurotoxins and fillers are the best options. Dr. Anthony N. Dardano is an experienced plastic surgeon providing injectables, PRP, and body contouring to help you feel your best.
What are injectables?
Injectables are cosmetic treatments that address signs of aging, such as wrinkles, sagging skin, and fine lines. They're minimally invasive and require little to no downtime, making them perfect for a quick makeover before the winter festivities begin.
Many injectables are on the market, each addressing specific skin issues. The two main categories of injectables we offer include:
Fillers
Fillers are injectable substances that resemble a gel. They plump the skin and provide a fuller appearance in the cheeks, lips, chin, and jawline.
Different types of fillers address various conditions, including correcting skin folds and wrinkles and restoring volume in the face. The types of fillers are hyaluronic acid, Poly-L-lactic acid, and calcium hydroxylapatite.
Neuromodulators
Neuromodulators temporarily stop nerves from innervating facial muscles, which helps reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® and Dysport® are well-known neuromodulators that address crow's feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.
Are injectables a good choice for the holidays?
The holidays are quickly approaching, and you need something with little to no downtime to be ready. Injectables are an excellent option for a quick pick-me-up right before the busy season.
Injectables offer fast results, little downtime, and a low risk of side effects or complications. You can be picture-perfect within a few days of these treatments, and there are no incisions to worry about.
Downtime for injectable treatments
Injectable treatments are ideal for a quick makeover because they have almost zero downtime. Fillers usually take 24-48 hours of recovery, while neurotoxins take 24 hours.
During the downtime period, you must follow specific instructions to ensure there aren't any complications from the neurotoxins or fillers moving into the skin.
With a few exceptions, you can immediately return to most of your everyday activities. You shouldn't do any strenuous activity for 24 hours after a neurotoxin and avoid the sun for a week after having a filler.
How long do the results last?
The results of dermal fillers and neurotoxin injections vary from person to person. The type of treatment also determines how long the results last. Your body may also metabolize the injectable faster or slower than others.
Neurotoxins provide results that last three to six months, although those numbers vary. Many people get up to six months from Botox, while other injectables last upwards of nine months.
Dermal fillers last longer than neurotoxins, but their duration varies depending on the treatment area, the type we use, and how your body metabolizes the product. Hyaluronic acid injections last anywhere from six to eighteen months, while other fillers last upwards of three years.
